I wasn’t lucky or quick enough to get in on the driver’s ed track day at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) this weekend but showed up anyways.  It’s always a great time to just look at some really awesome machines, and America’s premiere F1 track brings out a good crowd.  It’s only about an hour and a half down the road, and entry was free, so well worth the time.  Like every other track day I’ve been to, I took my time walking the paddock to see some of the cars.  BMW Performance was there with a fleet of M6 Gran Coupes, as well as a few M6s and X6Ms.  There was even an actual M1 there, a car you’d be lucky to see once in a lifetime.  I even ran into two of my DE instructors as well as several other folks I had seen at other track days.
